Alright, I know everyone is studying hard this weekend so here is another bonus case to look at…

26 year old male with chief complaint of my teeth don’t fit together.

Domain 1: What is the etiology of this patient’s malocclusion?

Domain 1: What additional information and/or records is needed from this patient before treatment planning their case?

Domain 2: List treatment options for this patient; If you choose to exclude an option list why it is excluded.

Domain 2: If choosing a non-surgical treatment plan, what mechanical challenges do you anticipate during treatment?

    Domain 1

    1) Agenesis of maxillary Lateral incisors

    2) Genetic

    3) Idiopathic

    4) Iatrogenic

    Domain 1

    1) Patient in CR to determine if shift

    2) CBCT

    Domain 2

    Treatment plan

    1) SARPE or TAD Borne palatal expansion

    2) Level and Align Maxillary Arch

    3) Level align mandible arch

    4) Mesialize upper molars and arch to substitute canines in place of laterals

    5) short class III elastics

    6) IPR to accommodate bolton discrepancy

    7) restorative referral to reshape substituted teeth

    8) Finish and detailing, ensure Mesial rotations of Maxillary Molars due to Class 2 molar finish

    Domain 2

I opted to avoid opening space of Upper 2s due to position of maxillary canines are already in lateral positions, class 2 molars right side is almost full step , Minimal upper arch space.

    Domain 2

Mechanical challenges will be correcting anterior cross bite, and controlling vertical dimension, as well as maintaining torque.
