Would you agree that if the maxilla is appropriately positioned A/P with an SNA in the mid-70’s, then the patient has a steep (divergent) anterior cranial base?

Absolutely, you’re on the right track. The cranial base here is 13 degrees (SN/MP – FMA = 13) and our normal is 7 so definitely steep! And you are correct in your application – just the impression of glancing at the maxilla is that it’s normalish in AP position.
