For this question I understand the answer now about how the maxilla grew “down” vertically as expected 0.6mm/year so about 1.2mm over the treatment time. Should we also expect ~.2mm forward movement total? Or would you say 0.8/yr if we include PNS and ANS?

I guess I am just confused if the answer should include that the maxilla did not grow forward as expected, if not any clarification on what to understand here is greatly appreciated!!

Should we say maxilla was held in the AP because of treatment ; therefore, the maxilla did not grow forward as expected.

Elizabeth, I can agree with the maxilla being held.

To your question on maxillary displacement. I included the screen shot of figure 8 from the Buschang article. We would expect 0.7mm/yr anterior movement. It is a combination of the posterior growth displacing the maxilla down and forward. In the article, they do underscore that maxillary growth tends to be “less than we think”.

I think it gets a bit tricky with changing inclination of max incisors and the remodeling of A point.

You hit the nail on the head with this. Maxilla held is excellent choice.

    For Module 2, Case 1, prompt 2

the answer is “CVMS 2 or CS3” and “Concavity at lower border of C2 and straight at lower border of C3”

I thought for CS=3, the lower border of C3 would also be concave? And in this case, I do think the lower border of C3 does look concave. Can you weigh in on this?

My answer would be “CS=3” and “Concavity at lower border of C2 and C3”.

      Leah,

You are correct! That’s a type-o it seems. I’ll note it for correction on the slide.
