What mechanics were used- I stated class III elastics but the answer is short? Short would have less of a horizontal vector and thus less a-p effect so I’m failing to understand why short?

Joti, do you have a list of all the effects of Class II / Class III elastics? [This was one thing I prepared with some study partners…along with different functional appliances]
The key thing I see here on long vs. short elastics is that there has been minimal rotation of the occlusal plane. Longer elastics have a more pronounced occlusal plane rotation in my experience.
Others have thoughts on this?
People want to chime in with effects of Class II / Class III elastics (it helps that it’s an opposites list)

I did think the occlusal plane could have to do with it- but honestly its not like i could see degrees of rotation and be like OKAY obviously we went from a short to a long class III… should i be able to do that?!?!
I don’t have a list but i can type what I have in my head (:
class II mechanics
– extrusion of anterior teeth in maxilla
-extrusion of mandibular first molar
– distalization of maxillary canine
– mesialization of mandibular molar
– retroclination of maxillary incisors
– proclination of mandibular incisors
– clockwise rotation of occlusal plane
class III mechanics
– extrusion of mandibular anterior teeth
– extrusion of maxillary molar
– distalization of mandibular canine
– mesialization of maxillary molar

– retroclination of mandibular incisors
– counterclockwise rotation of occlusal plane
