quick question about answering. Do you know if there is a penalty for have more items on a list than they are expecting? For example, on the list of dental changes seen on a superimposition, I am finding myself commenting on every possible movement (AP, tipping, vertical) of each of the teeth but the answers in the sample tests are not.

    Natalie,

    Good question!

The scoring guidelines from the ABO say there are not “penalty” points but rather capturing a certain number of the desired responses. For example 3 out of 7, 5 out of 7 or 6-7 out of 7.

Now, you can’t just say contradictory information to “cover bases”. So don’t put “Proclined max incisors” on one line and “Retroclined max incisors”.

What I did is in my first response area type out lines with 1-15 and then I hit all that I could think of but it was a reminder to stop when I was getting to far in the weeds. None of the sample cases from the ABO show a case with 20 responses they are looking for. It’s generally around 5-8 key points.

    Does that clear it up?

    Thanks

    Carter
